In 1994 my Dad donated a flag to the Detroit Library in honor of the soldiers who died at Normandy. They had a flag raising on June 6th. He was interviewed afterwards by a local TV station that filmed the ceremony…..he wanted to talk about the library being closed on Sundays, but the interviewer tries to steer him back to D-Day. He is 72 here.
